Faith

Catholic schools have an incredible mission entrusted to them. In 1884, when American bishops called for the forming of parish schools in the United States, they said:

“Therefore we not only exhort Catholic parents with paternal love but we also command them, with all the authority in our power, to procure for their beloved offspring, given to them by God, re-born in Christ in baptism, and destined for heaven, a truly Christian and Catholic education and to defend and safeguard them from the dangers of an education merely secular.”

We attend daily Mass together as a school and recite the Rosary. Our students frequent confession and adoration as a class. Each month, the community comes together to celebrate “First Friday” in honor of the Sacred Heart devotion with a day dedicated to prayer, good works, and various athletic and competitive activities. Each of our teachers understands that they are a witness for the Catholic faith to the students entrusted to them. Ultimately, we want our students to graduate with the goal of being life-long disciples of Christ.

Virtue

To assist our students in their personal and spiritual growth, we place great emphasis on the life of virtue. Each month, we focus on a particular virtue as a school. The virtues are integrated into lessons, discipline, and our daily life as a community. Students are recognized for the areas in which they show growth in these particular habits of excellence. We hope our scholars see that “the only true riches are those that make us rich in virtue” (Pope St. Gregory the Great).
