Saint Michael Catholic School is committed to building a thriving school community rooted in faith, service, and shared responsibility. Our family volunteer program recognizes that the active participation of our families is essential to the school’s mission and day-to-day operations.
To support school programs, staffing, and events throughout the academic year, each family is asked to fulfill a participation commitment each semester, similar to numerous other schools across the Diocese. Parents/guardians are the first models of virtue for their children, so we encourage parents/guardians to actively participate in our school community and model virtuous giving. Families may choose between two options per semester based on their circumstances and availability.
We are rolling out the pilot of this program this 2026/2027 school year. As such, we will not be charging fees this year but are still looking to see a marked increase in volunteering and engagement this 26/27 school year. We would ideally like to see, while ambitious, all parents/families meaningfully engaging in their children’s educational environment. Beginning the 2027/2028 school year, we will begin full integration of the volunteer program.

CMG Safe Environment is an online training course that safeguards the spiritual, emotional, and physical well‑being of minors and vulnerable adults in our Diocese. CMGSE is a requirement for ALL parents who are volunteering at or regularly coming into the school. Please find our Sign Up Genius linked here for your reference with all of our school events for the year that are available for booking volunteer spots. New opportunities to volunteer will be regularly added as things come up throughout the year.
All hours completed by families/parents must be registered either by filling out a 'log your hours' form that can be picked up in the school's front office before you leave OR you can send an email according to the guidelines in the volunteer guide. Emails must be sent within ONE WEEK of volunteering or the hours will not be counted. This is a pilot program so there are liable to be hiccups; we appreciate your grace with this program and thank you for your help in making Saint Michael Catholic School the best it can be for our students and families.
