Catholic Liberal Education
- Catholic- “the aim of our educational program is to lead men to the knowledge and love of our Creator and Redeemer” (Ratio Studiorum); our educational culture is rooted in relationship with Christ, especially via prayer and the sacraments
- Liberal- from the Latin liber, meaning free; our curriculum introduces students to the foundational teachers, works, stories, and ideas that have shaped our world and frees their minds and hearts to love the true, good, and beautiful
- Education- “a comprehensive view of truth in all its branches.” (St. John Henry Newman, The Idea of a University)
Our History
Saint Michael Catholic School was founded in 1942 by the Saint Michael Catholic Church Parish under the direction of Father Gregory Eichenlaub, O.S.B.
The original school was initially located in a parishioner's five-room home, staffed by the local Sisters of Mercy. The school served students in grades 1-6. In 1952, the school moved to its current location as the first building on our campus.
