Altar Servers assist the priest during the liturgies of the Church, at Holy Mass, at Benediction, etc. They are leaders of prayer and therefore should exhibit a reverence and love our Eucharistic Lord and be witnesses to the Faithful.
Altar Service at St. Michael is open to boys have received the Sacraments of First Penance and First Communion. They must agree to pray daily, go to Mass on all Sundays and Holy Days of obligation, go to Confession regularly, and develop a good prayer life.
Altar boys at St. Michael will be assigned to specific teams of servers, which will include at a minimum- an MC, Crucifer, and two acolytes. These teams will be assigned to serve at specific Masses, and all members of that team are expected to serve at those assigned Masses. It will be the responsibility of each Altar Server to find a replacement and to notify the Team Leader/MC of the change, or to request assistance finding a substitute.
