HEAD OF SCHOOL
Michelle Vollman, Head of School
Ms. Vollman was born and raised Catholic, and thus understands the importance of Catholic classical education. Growing up, she attended Saint James the Greater Catholic Church and was active in youth group and many youth retreats through her role in the Diocesan Youth Advisory Council which organizes the Diocesan Youth Conference (a large retreat each year for high school students). Ms. Vollman continued to be active in the Catholic Campus Ministry on UNC Wilmington's campus while she was in college. Ms. Vollman is now a member of Saint Michael Catholic Church in order to foster a closer relationship to both her school and church community.
Michelle Vollman was hired in July of 2020 as the new head of school for Saint Michael Catholic School. Ms. Vollman comes to us from the Charlotte Mecklenburg school district where she was a 3rd year teacher for four years. She has eight years of teaching experience, all in primary grade levels, prior to taking on this role. Ms. Vollman has held several leadership positions including a member of the opening staff of a charter school, instructional team lead, and coach of girls running club. Ms. Vollman earned her Masters of Educational Leadership from Queens University in Charlotte in December 2021, and her dual Bachelors in Education and Elementary Education and Teaching from UNC Wilmington in 2o11.
