Pre-Kindergarten Program (Ages 3 & 4)
Saint Michael offers half-day (8 AM - 12:30 PM) and full-day (8 AM - 3 PM) academic Pre-Kindergarten programs for three and four-year-olds to increase our students' readiness for Kindergarten.*
In Pre-K, learning occurs in a gentle, natural, and fun manner. Our Pre-K program starts students on the path to reading, writing and arithmetic. We seek to develop strong social skills in our students as well as an understanding of respect, cooperation and classroom rules. Additionally, pre-k students are exposed to technology to ease them into the ever-changing technologically-driven world.
The Pre-K program provides integration of all disciplines, hands-on learning, and a discovery of social and educational core concepts. They are exposed to a core curriculum and fine arts, including Spanish, Music, Art, Library and more.
We use the Opening the World of Learning (OWL) curriculum, which includes, literacy, math, science, social studies, and music. We use Zoo Phonics to supplement our literacy and the Who Am I? religion series. We learn through playing in various centers, like blocks, dramatic play, and writing table, just to name a few. Not only do we focus on academics, but we also learn to treat each other with love and respect.
After school care is also available for families who desire it.
* All children which apply for Saint Michael Pre-K Program must be potty-trained as our Pre-K program is not a daycare.
