LOWER SCHOOL AT SAINT MICHAEL
Exploration. Creativity. Learning.
Lower school is a time of employing exploration and creativity to craft exceptional learning at Saint Michael. Our lower school teachers work closely with parents to ensure that our youngest Tigers are receiving the building blocks they need to build a strong foundation in the Grammar Stage of the Classical Education Trivium. We encourage students to ask questions, explore new ideas, and engage in a wide variety of learning activities. Our goals at the lower school are to ensure that students are achieving their developmental milestones, learning the fundamentals of academics, and experiencing positive emotional and spiritual growth. Our small class size allows teachers to closely monitor students’ development and challenge them with age-appropriate activities.
Our educational philosophy means balancing core subjects with moral values and artistic expression. Religion, art, music and more are all integrated at the lower school level to start our students on the path to success in upper school and beyond. We also believe it's important to emphasize cooperation, prayer and loving acceptance as important pieces to begin building a moral compass.
We also offer a variety of clubs such as theatre, piano, photography, and cooking to give students the ability to develop talents and personal expression.
